History
The Russians were the first to fly women into Space in 1963, followed by Americans in 1983. The Chinese were next in 2012, followed by private companies like SpaceX and Blue Origin in 2021. The Women in Space list is meant to capture which country led the spaceflights, the nationality of the Women in Space (dual nationalities are accepted), the year of the spaceflight, number of flights and/or spacewalks, and whether the participant is deceased.
